Labour Court ·

In 1998, the Labour Court rejected a claim by Ohshima and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for a weekly pay increase of at least £10 for assembly operators, and recommended gain-sharing talks instead. The Court's recommendation was signed on 15 May 1998. The union said operators had taken on repair work and increased productivity, while Ohshima argued the claim breached Clause 6 of Partnership 2000. The Court agreed the claim breached the clause and rejected it.
