Labour Court recommends pay changes for fisheries board staff

By Tadhg O'Sullivan

Labour Court ·

In 1999, the Labour Court recommended pay and allowance changes in a restructuring dispute affecting about 215 field-grade staff at the Central And Regional Fisheries Boards. The case involved the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The Court recommended two phases of a special pay increase, taking effect from 1 June 1994 and 1 June 1997, and revised long-service increments for Fishery Officers and Inspectors. It also recommended preserving the current unsocial-hours allowance for eligible existing staff and temporary staff pending negotiations on a new system for later recruits.
