The Labour Court found the manner of a worker’s dismissal by Heatons Limited unfair and recommended £1,500 compensation, in a recommendation signed on 22 February 2000. The worker said she received no warnings and had been praised for her work shortly before her dismissal. Heatons Limited said she was on a nine-month probationary period and had not made the transition from designer to buyer. The Court found that she had not received enough support and training to make that transition.
