The Labour Court recommended that conditions could apply to payment of the balance due under a 1993 productivity agreement for eight fitters at Beamish & Crawford Ltd. Its recommendation was dated 24 March 2000. The Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union sought full implementation without further conditions, less £2,000 already paid. Beamish & Crawford Ltd said further payment should depend on upskilling. The Court found it was not unreasonable for the company to require conditions for paying the balance.
