The Labour Court found that Irish Rail had addressed a dispute after a worker’s paid annual leave was mistakenly recorded as unpaid special leave, leading to a wage deduction. The company corrected the error, reimbursed the worker and expressed regret. The recommendation was signed on 7 April 2000. The worker sought a grievance meeting after the financial issue had been resolved. The Court found no reason for the company to hold one. Irish Rail declined to attend the hearing.
