The Labour Court recommended that Mandate accept Hermitage Golf Club’s conciliation offer in a pay dispute covering 14 bar and catering staff. Its recommendation was signed on 5 March 2001. The offer included pay increases, extra annual leave for long service, overtime after 39 hours a week, public holiday premiums and Sunday premiums for caddy assistants. The Court recommended accepting the offer’s productivity measures and said employment contracts should be addressed immediately. It accepted that the club could not meet the union’s wider demands at that time.
