Labour Court rejects Group 4 union claim for Dublin pay rates in Drogheda

By Gráinne Nolan

Labour Court ·

In 2001, the Labour Court rejected the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for Dublin pay rates for four security officers at a Group 4 site in Drogheda. The union argued that the Dublin Area Agreement applied because the site was administered from Dublin. Group 4 said it had different pay rates around the country and that Louth-area matters were handled through the union’s Dundalk branch. The Court found the contract was not covered by the Dublin Area Agreement. Its recommendation was signed on 6 November 2001.
