In 2002, the Labour Court recommended that Tipperary Co-Operative Creamery Limited employ five craftspersons, a sixth initially on a 12-month contract, and one apprentice in 2002 and another in 2003. The recommendation was dated 7 January 2002. The Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union sought permanent craft staff after vacancies arose in the maintenance department. The Co-operative said it wanted flexibility while reorganising the work. The Court made its recommendation on the basis that discussions on the reorganisation would resume and conclude without further delay.
