The Labour Court recommended that Adams Childrenswear Limited and Mandate meet to agree a further pay adjustment after the company introduced a new pay structure in April 2002. Mandate had sought a new six-point scale and a service increment. The Court rejected the increment claim, saying the company's service-related leave arrangements were an appropriate way to recognise long service. The recommendation was signed on 9 September 2002.
