The Labour Court recommended that Fruit Of The Loom recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for normal industrial relations matters involving salaried staff who are union members. It also recommended that the parties meet to conclude a framework agreement. The recommendation was dated 18 September 2003. The union sought restoration of representation rights, which it said had been recognised under an agreement. The Court found that the union and its predecessor had been recognised for salaried staff under a 1994 agreement.
