Labour Court recommends Mullaney Brothers and Mandate accept roster proposal

By Aoife Loughran

Labour Court ·

In 2003, the Labour Court recommended that Mullaney Brothers and Mandate accept a conciliation proposal on rosters and bonus payments. The recommendation was signed on 13 November 2003. Mandate sought the same roster arrangements and financial incentive for Mullaney Brothers’ drapery staff as for its travel staff. The company said the businesses were separate and that no staff interchange took place. The Court said the 20 November 2002 proposal recognised parity between the departments, while allowing the day off in lieu to reflect business needs. It also accepted the company’s method of compensating staff who lost a two-day weekend.
