The Labour Court recommended a 27% pay increase for three vocational training tutors at St Josephs School for the Visually Impaired. The recommendation, signed on 18 November 2004, said the increase should follow Benchmarking implementation dates and apply only to the three claimants. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union had sought application of the 2001 Houseparent and Assistant Houseparent pay terms, citing the tutors’ historical link to those grades.
