The Labour Court did not recommend concession of Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim against Eason & Son Limited for retrospective payment of a 2% increase under the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness. The company employed 1,300 workers at 23 locations. The company said it had agreed to pay the increase from 1 February 2002 with no retrospection, and the union accepted that offer after a workforce ballot in January 2002. The Court found the issue had been resolved by an unconditional agreement in full and final settlement. The recommendation was signed on 20 January 2005.
