The Labour Court recommended that Shenick Contracting and the Building and Allied Trades Union meet to calculate any retrospective travelling allowance due to two bricklayers from September 2003. The union sought the full allowance under the Construction Industry Registered Employment Agreement. Shenick Contracting said rates under a 2002 agreement included the allowance, while a separate agreement in September 2003 provided for it to be paid separately. The Court accepted that the 2002 arrangement remained in place until the new agreement. The recommendation was signed on 30 March 2005.
