Labour Court recommends €2,000 for worker constructively dismissed by Dolly Heffernan’s

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that Dolly Heffernan’s pay a worker €2,000 compensation after finding his employment had ended in circumstances amounting to constructive dismissal. The recommendation was signed on 8 July 2005. The worker, represented by Mandate, was told to transfer to another pub at short notice and was then prevented from working at Dolly Heffernan’s. The employer disputed that his employment had ended and said he could be moved between premises. The Court found it unreasonable to require the transfer on two days’ notice and to withhold his P45.
