The Labour Court endorsed Iarnrod Eireann’s proposal for a worker transferred from Thurles to Heuston Station after an employment disciplinary process. The recommendation was signed on 18 July 2005. The worker sought a transfer nearer home, saying the move to Dublin caused excessive daily travel and expenses. Iarnrod Eireann said the transfer followed a serious conduct breach and offered the worker a chance to start again in a new district. The Court considered the company’s proposal reasonable and recommended that the worker accept it as the final resolution of the matter and all claims against the company.
