Labour Court recommends higher rating and bonus for ABN AMRO Bank worker

By Niamh Kearney

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that Abn Amro Bank N.V. revise a worker’s 2004 performance rating from 2 to 3 and pay the bonus due for that rating. The recommendation was signed on 8 February 2006. The worker, Business Unit Head and Head of Finance for the bank’s Dublin branch, challenged the rating. He said the appraisal did not account for his secondment and departed from the bank’s guidelines. The bank said it followed normal procedures and considered the rating fair. The Court said the worker’s record and additional high-priority compliance work supported a higher rating. It recommended the change on a personal-to-holder basis, without precedent.
