Labour Court rejects SIPTU & IMPACT claim for Holy Day time off

Labour Court ·

In 2006, the Labour Court rejected SIPTU & IMPACT’s claim against Dublin City Council for paid time off or compensation for outdoor staff who lost 30 minutes on Holy Days. The recommendation was signed on 13 June 2006. The unions said the time off to attend church services had been a longstanding practice. Dublin City Council said it had ceased in 1997, although some outdoor staff continued it as a local arrangement. The Court found no merit in the claim and rejected it.
