The Labour Court recommended three extra days of annual leave in 2007 and two in 2008 for 35 clerical and administrative staff moved from St Camillus’ Hospital to Raheen Industrial Estate. The recommendation was signed on 15 February 2007. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union raised concerns about transport, traffic, access to facilities and the loss of subsidised canteen services. HSE Mid Western Area said staff had been consulted and that the relocation did not breach their employment terms. Staff moved under protest after discussions failed.
