The Labour Court recommended against extending two privilege days to nurses at HSE Naas General Hospital, rejecting the Irish Nurses Organisation’s claim. The recommendation was signed on 23 October 2007. The union argued nurses were officer grades and should receive the days, pointing to staff with less service and community nurses who received them. The hospital said the concession had never applied to the grades covered by the claim. The Court found the days had traditionally applied only to clerical and administrative grades and saw no reasonable basis to extend them.
