The Labour Court did not recommend concession of the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's claim that a retained firefighter at Mayo County Council could remain in service until age 65. The Court cited the relevance of Brigade Order No. 2. The union said the worker understood the retirement age to be 65 and cited personal reasons for seeking to remain in service. The council said the retirement age had been 60 under the order and that the worker understood this requirement.
