The Labour Court recommended that HSE South and the Irish Nurses Organisation discuss day care co-ordinator grading at national level. The recommendation was signed on 16 December 2008. The Irish Nurses Organisation sought an upgrade for 20 day care co-ordinators in Cork and Kerry from CNM1 to CNM2, arguing their work matched roles graded at CNM2 elsewhere. HSE South said there was no national job description and that CNM1 was the appropriate grade. The Court said similar duties should generally receive similar grades, but recommended that the issue, including how and when to standardise the grades, be discussed nationally by HSE South and the relevant unions.
