Labour Court recommends senior archaeologist title and long-service increment

By Eimear Byrne

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that Mayo County Council restore a worker’s Senior Archaeologist title and recognise his entitlement to a second long-service increment from 6 February 2008. The recommendation was signed on 26 November 2009.

The worker had sought Senior Engineer grading, long-service increments and a change from his Planning Department assignment. The Court accepted he was at the appropriate grade for his work, did not recommend changing his assignment because archaeology roles were limited after restructuring, and recommended retrospection for the increment.
