The Labour Court did not recommend that Sligo Co. Council concede the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for compensation after workers moved 7.5km to a new council yard. The recommendation was signed on 16 June 2011. The union said the move added travel time and expense and that workers should be compensated for their cooperation and flexibility. Sligo Co. Council said the new yard had better facilities and it faced financial constraints. The Court said it did not recommend concession of the union’s claim.
