The Labour Court recommended a 2.5% pay increase for workers represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union at Medite Europe Limited, backdated to 1 April 2009. The unions sought the third phase of the Towards 2016 agreement. Medite said the agreement no longer applied and that market conditions meant it could not afford an increase. The Court noted that the claim was made while the agreement remained in force and that Medite had not invoked its inability-to-pay provisions. The recommendation was signed on 28 June 2011.
