Labour Court ·

The Labour Court upheld Counter Products Marketing Limited T/A CPM Ireland’s redundancy offer in a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The Court recommended the offer on 24 August 2011, after the union sought enhanced terms for members facing 22 redundancies. The company offered statutory redundancy entitlements plus three-and-a-half weeks’ pay per year of service, while the union sought eight weeks’ pay per year alongside statutory entitlements. The Court noted that the offer matched terms that had applied in the company taken over by CPM Ireland and that the union accepted it was in line with normal industry terms.
