The Labour Court said a claim to upgrade two Teagasc Grade 4 staff to Grade 5 could not be considered during the Public Service Agreement 2010–2014. The recommendation was signed on 15 November 2011. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union argued that restructuring had added duties to the roles and sought upgrading and a €15,000 payment for each claimant. Teagasc said the claim was a cost increase barred by the agreement and that the employees’ responsibilities matched their Grade 4 job descriptions.
