The Labour Court recommended that Tesco Ballinasloe increase its relocation payment to €2,000 for the staff social fund and pay a former canteen worker €500 after she transferred to another department. The recommendation was signed on 21 March 2012. Mandate sought €1,400 per employee for the move and a €3,000 retention payment for the worker. Tesco said the move had not affected staff, described its original €1,600 social-fund offer as a goodwill gesture, and rejected the retention claim. The Court recommended both payments after considering the two sides' positions.
