By Aoife Loughran

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that IMPACT / SIPTU increase their offer to a 5% reduction in working hours at Breffni Intergrated Limited, effective 23 July 2012. The recommendation was signed on 6 July 2012. The Cavan area community services company said funding had fallen by about 35% over four years and sought a 5% payroll reduction, equivalent to €30,000. The unions had offered a 4.1% reduction, equivalent to €21,000, through employees taking 1.7 hours of unpaid time off each week. The Court recommended increasing the unions’ offer to 5% to meet the company’s payroll budget and avoid measures including redundancies.
