Labour Court recommends facilitated process for Carlow College and worker

By Gráinne Nolan

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that Carlow College and a worker enter a facilitated process to resolve ongoing workplace grievances. The recommendation was signed on 22 September 2015. The worker said most grievances remained unresolved. Carlow College said allegations of bullying and harassment had been investigated and the findings upheld on appeal. The Court said another investigation would serve no practical purpose. It recommended that an independent person nominated by the Court conduct a facilitated process with both sides’ cooperation. The process was intended to move matters forward, not reopen the allegations. The Court would make its nomination after both parties confirmed acceptance.
