The Labour Court recommended four weeks of intensive talks between Mondelez Ireland, Unite and SIPTU to seek agreement on the proposed outsourcing of Coolock Stores. The recommendation was signed on 4 November 2015. The unions said the stores were core to production and criticised proposed redundancies alongside temporary recruitment. The company said it was working to maintain employment and could not afford a larger pay increase. The Court recommended 2% pay increases from 1 May 2014 and 1 May 2015, with the agreement expiring on 30 April 2016; it endorsed neither side’s position on outsourcing.
