Labour Court recommends delayed public holiday compensation deal for hospice staff

By Aoife Loughran

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended applying an agreement on public holiday compensation for 23 North West Hospice staff with a 12-month delay. The recommendation was dated 20 October 2015. HSE North West and SIPTU & INMO were parties to the dispute. The agreement provided for one additional day of annual leave in lieu of a public holiday and a one-off payment of 1.5 times the loss. Union members had rejected the agreement in a ballot, and the Court recommended delaying its start date by 12 months from the beginning of the 2015/2016 annual leave year.
