The Labour Court recommended that Dublin Institute of Technology and the Teachers' Union of Ireland return to national discussions over the application of the Cush Report and Circular Letter 41/2016. The recommendation was signed on 14 August 2017. The union had claimed that Dublin Institute of Technology breached the Lansdowne Road Agreement. The Court said the issues had national application and recommended the parties establish how the report and circular were being applied across the Institutes, including the method used when additional hours became available. If there was no common national approach, the issues should be processed nationally; matters specific to Dublin Institute of Technology could be referred back to the Court.
