The Labour Court recommended that the HSE pay a worker €6,500 in full and final settlement of her claim over a dual capacity allowance. The recommendation was signed on 23 November 2017. The worker, represented by the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union, said she had taken on additional duties without a reduction in her workload and sought recognition through the allowance. The HSE argued she had been paid correctly and that the allowance had been discontinued. The Court noted that an agreement addressing the issue had been drafted, but the HSE withdrew from it without giving an acknowledged reason after an adjudication hearing had been cancelled.
