The Labour Court recommended that Leo Pharma introduce three-cycle 24/5 rosters for craft workers from 1 September 2018, with a review after six months. The recommendation was signed on 21 May 2018. Unite the Union opposed mandatory night work, saying the company had not shared its business case and that 26 of its 41 members had no contractual obligation to work nights. Leo Pharma said voluntary cover was no longer sufficient and mandatory rosters were needed to improve competitiveness and secure its future. The Court also recommended a once-off €1,000 payment per craft worker if the recommendation was accepted.
