The Labour Court recommended that Prepay Power pay a worker €650 in compensation after dismissing him by telephone during his second week of training. The recommendation, dated 12 November 2018, found the company had failed to follow fair procedures. The worker had sought reinstatement, saying he was given no reason for his dismissal. The Court relied on his uncontested account after the company did not attend the hearing. The €650 payment is equivalent to two weeks’ gross basic pay.
