The Labour Court recommended that Sulzer Pump Solutions Ireland Ltd and General Operatives & Maintenance Workers return to local talks on a pay agreement covering 2020 to 2022. The recommendation was dated 27 April 2021, after the previous agreement expired at the end of 2019. The union sought annual increases of 3% for three years from 2020. Sulzer said it had considered a 4.5% increase but introduced a company-wide pay freeze for 2020 during the pandemic. It proposed a €500 voucher for that year and a review of pay in 2021, which the workers did not accept. The Court recommended talks aimed at an agreement for 2020 to 2022 that recognised the difficulties of 2020.
