The Labour Court set aside a €1,500 recommendation in a transfer claim brought by a worker against the Office Of Public Works (OPW). The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union appealed on the worker’s behalf, but the Court concluded the claim was without merit. The worker said the employer had undertaken to provide a transfer. The Court found no basis for that contention. It also noted there was no contention that the employer had failed to follow its transfer policy, which had been formulated after consultation with the union. The Court’s decision was signed on 8 June 2023.
