The Labour Court recommended that North Dublin Citizens Information Service progress a worker’s disciplinary appeal and grievance investigation without further delay, and immediately review whether his suspension should continue. The worker remains suspended after a disciplinary sanction and is appealing that decision. The worker sought immediate reinstatement, a fresh or restarted disciplinary process and an investigation into a grievance he lodged in July 2022. The employer said its internal processes were still under way and that suspension would continue during the appeal. The Court said it could not intervene in unfinished internal processes, but said it had not been made clear why the suspension continued after the sanction was issued. The recommendation was signed on 8 August 2023.
