Labour Court recommends Pepsico recognise Connect for industrial relations talks

By Rory Hanlon

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that Pepsico recognise Connect as the representative of employees who join the union, for industrial relations purposes. It also recommended negotiations towards a collective agreement covering how industrial relations matters would be handled. The recommendation was signed on 26 June 2025. Connect Trade Union brought the dispute on behalf of seven multi-skilled technicians at Pepsico’s Carrigaline site, seeking representation on pay and other employment terms. No one appeared for Pepsico at the hearing in Cork. The Court’s recommendation followed a referral under section 20(1) of the Industrial Relations Act 1969.
