The Labour Court overturned a €6,284.88 award to Jun Yu Wang on Top Security Limited’s appeal, finding his complaint was not well founded. The determination was signed on 27 February 2006. Wang, a part-time security officer, was dismissed after an incident in which the company said he left his post without permission. He said a mobile patrol officer asked him to assist elsewhere and that he notified central control before leaving. The union accepted the dismissal did not arise from Wang’s part-time status and made no claim that he had been penalised under the Act on that basis.
