The Labour Court upheld a €13,000 compensation award to a worker dismissed after refusing to move from part-time to full-time work. Its determination was dated 17 July 2007. Beacon Automotive Ltd said it intended to keep the worker part-time and reorganise her duties. The Court accepted her account that the company dismissed her because it wanted a full-time replacement. It found the employer breached the Protection of Employees (Part-Time Work) Act 2001.
