The Labour Court reduced Christopher Royle’s award from €860 to €560 after partly upholding Redweld Engineering Limited’s appeal over unpaid wages. In a determination signed on 26 April 2017, the Court awarded him €400 for a week in 2016 for which Redweld’s records showed no payment, and €160 for two unpaid days at the end of his employment. Royle had also claimed €480 for annual leave. The Court found that he had been paid and had taken six days’ leave, so it made no award for that claim. Redweld accepted that two days’ pay was due.
