The Labour Court dismissed Dusan Stipala’s appeal against the refusal of his €140 Payment of Wages claim against Coral Leisure Longford Limited. The Court signed its determination on 13 June 2017. Stipala, a leisure attendant at the company’s Longford facility, said his contract entitled him to sick pay under the relevant regulations. After he went on long-term sick leave, Coral Leisure Longford Limited halved his sick pay from 19 August 2016, following a practice of six months on full pay and three months on half pay. The Court found he had not established that the €140 he claimed was properly payable, so his appeal failed.
