The Labour Court upheld a €292.60 award to Michael Forde after both he and Panscape Partitions Systems Limited appealed an Adjudication Officer’s decision. The determination was dated 26 June 2023. Forde said he was contractually entitled to two hours’ travel time pay each day, which appeared on his payslips. The company argued the payment was a travel expense outside the Payment of Wages Act and denied any contractual entitlement. The Court found the payment was contractual wages, not an expense, and that Forde was owed €292.60 during the relevant period. Both appeals failed, leaving the Adjudication Officer’s decision and award in place.
