The Labour Court upheld the decision against Mr Soans Joseph Francis in his appeal under the Transfer of Undertakings Regulations after he did not attend the hearing. The Court’s decision was signed on 11 June 2024. Francis had appealed an Adjudication Officer’s finding that his complaint against Pramerica Systems Ireland was not well founded. He said he could not attend the hearing on 23 May 2024, but made no application to postpone it. The Court said the appeal had to fail because he was not present to pursue it; the merits were not decided.
