The Labour Court allowed an appeal by Unit D & E Bwg Foods Unlimited Company, after refusing an extension for Velimir Eldic to file an unfair dismissal complaint. Its decision was signed on 1 August 2024. The merits were not decided. Eldic’s employment ended on 28 January 2022, and the WRC received his complaint on 28 July, one day beyond the initial six-month limit. He sought more time, citing several circumstances including an internal appeal and his misunderstanding of the deadline. The Court said he had not explained how those circumstances excused the delay and that misunderstanding the law did not establish reasonable cause.
