The Labour Court allowed Anita Ryan’s appeal and awarded her €2,487 compensation after finding Killaloe Car Care Products Ltd failed to follow fair procedures when making her redundant. In its decision dated 23 July 2025, the Court accepted that digitisation had reduced administrative work and that a genuine redundancy situation existed. But the company had decided to dismiss Ryan without first engaging with her, then told her at a meeting that the redundancy would take immediate effect. The Court set aside the adjudication officer’s decision.
