Drumkeerin has a late-June community weekend and the animal welfare centre in its public notes. Public notices advertised Grange Players' `MOLL` in Drumkeerin Community Centre on Saturday 27 June at 8.30pm, and Drumkeerin GAA's 2026 fixture stream has games around 13, 20 and 28 June. Leitrim County Council lists the Dog Shelter at Barraghmore, Drumkeerin, N41 DX31, where Leitrim Animal Welfare provides dog-warden services under council contract; the shelter opens Monday to Wednesday 9am-4.30pm and Thursday-Friday 9am-4pm. The John McKenna Festival ran from Wednesday 3 June to Sunday 7 June 2026, with Pop-Up Gaelteacht in the Community Centre, CeolChairde in Frank Davitt's Pub, Sunday Mass in Tarmon, wreath-laying at the John McKenna monument, a McKenna House session and whistle/flute competitions. Leitrim Tourism carries Drumkeerin Community Family Festival from 14 to 23 August 2026 as a family week with plenty to do and see, while the public festival trail keeps Old Fair Day, Main Street activity, family sports and evening social fundraisers close to the same August stretch beside the Rowantree Centre, Main Street services, Lough Allen College and the road toward Dowra.
