The Labour Court amended a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation in a dismissal dispute involving Puresafe Limited and a worker employed as a cleaner. In a decision signed on 31 August 2000, it recommended reinstatement without recrimination or, alternatively, payment of £250. The worker said she was told she was sacked and had received no earlier warnings. PureSafe said she had not been dismissed, had left work and failed to return, and had received verbal warnings. The Court said there appeared to have been scope for confusion around the dispute.
